Ain't it the truth?

Opening the Bible is a daunting (even scarey) thing for me.

Many get comfort and peace from the Word, but often I find it a pretty uncomfortable book to read. Truth can be confronting or encouraging depending on where you stand... and it is eternal, never changing so it is always relevant.

Here's a verse that I am chewing over at the moment in relation to blogging.

"He who speaks on his own does so to gain honour for himself, but he who works for the honour of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him". John 7:18

Now there's a challenge.

hey lisa,
loving the blog! connecting real life with the truth of Jesus, and illustrating how God spreads his family across the world and yet we all have similar struggles but the Word can help and challenge us, shape and encourage us day by day!
lotsa love

Thats always the challenge isn't it - to see how whatever we do is not for our honour but for his.
Not being perfect we will slip up, but thats not reason enough not to try. In fact we must try as shown in the parable of the talents. To not try for fear of failure is worse than to try and fail. The Proverbs are full of the danger of the sin of pride, that seems to be the "worst" sin if there is a graduation. It appears this verse fits with that concept.
so keep in the back of you head as you blog who you do everything in life for, and keep challenging us with your thoughts.
Love to all of you there
